I've started stripping the paint from the bottom of my starcraft and
have noticed some small stress cracks in the skin, coming from the
rivit holes on the starboard side, on the bottom of the hull along
the chine. I assume these are strees cracks caused by flexing. The
rivits in question are the last rivits on the ribs. The cracks are
about 3/8's in lenght. Is this something I need to worry about. Can I
rivit and epoxy small mend plates over these areas? There is pitting
around these rivits also, most minor but a couple are extensive. Any
one have any ideas? I've restored wooden boats but this is my first
tin.
