I don't know where you do your boating, but where I live, the heat transfer of aluminum would make it way too hot.

I replaced the floor of my Lund about four years ago. The old one was plywood, covered with red carpet.
I made another floor out of four pieces of plywood, and covered it with Home Depot outdoor carpet. The plywood is ac grade, and I used polyester resin to band the edges with glass tape. The pieces were joined with dowels and glue.

This boat sits in the water year around. The plywood is still in good shape, but the carpet completely rotted out. Gone, nothing left but the adhesive. The next floor I make is going to be in pieces instead of one piece, for easier service, and will be covered with that pebbled vinyl flooring you see on the aluminum jet fishing boats.
Just my $0.02
