Unleaded fuel is only a problem in an engine with soft valves and compression of over 9.5/1. The lead acted as a lubricant, but mostly to deter predetonation of the fuel charge.I'm assuming your motor is a 2stroke outboard. A higher octane fuel will help with the predetonation, and if you have a ported motor, you don't have anything to worry about(just don't trust oil injection,pre-mix ALLWAYS!)If your motor has been rebuilt with high compression pistons or a decked head listen for a popping or pinging noise and add some octane! A backfire through a carb can be ugly.
