1988 50 horse merc question, looking for more power

Looking in my service manual it indicatest that the 50, 60, & 70 horse have the same displacement (stroke and bore also the same), and the carb jetting is the same in a 50 & 70. So if all that is the same what makes the 70 70 horses and the 50, 50. It would be great to have 20 additional horses. Bottom line what can I do to get more power out of my 50?
