Two words "Boyesen Reeds":
I just installed some Boyesens on a 1994 Yamaha 40 hp. My customer said he was running 42 mph after installing them he took the boat out and is running 49 mph. 7mph increase and better fuel economy. By the way the carbs are different in the 50 60 and 70. Email me the year and serial number and I can give you a price on the conversion. I have also been installing them on a bunch of 9.9 hp johnsons they make a world of a difference.
