Cleaning a "lacquered" gas tank

Have a 20gal rectangular aluminum tank that held gasoline way too long. The gas gummed & lacquered the interior of the tank. Drained as much as I could, but gummy lacquer still clings to the inside. Any suggestions for removing this stuff, so the tank can go into service on another boat?
