Hi Steve,Threading cable steering is really simple
Take the cable off the top of the spool, it
goes down the strbd. side of the boat for a left turn, port side for right turn.It is possible to run both cables down one side but one cable will need to cross the transom in order to pull the motor in the proper direction. Normally there are spring tensioners to keep the cables tight. Each cable goes through it`s own pulley at the motor and is fixed to tensioner which is attached at a point near the corner of the transom. The pulleys ease the effort of steering. I hope this is clear
I can try to make drawing and email if you want.
