if you break down and take it to a welding shop be careful alot of them claim they can weld aluminum with a mig welder and they can if its a heavy piece but boats are thin ask them if they have a tig welder if they dont go to another shop dont let them burn huge holes in you boat then tell you it cant be fixed this has happend to me before and make sure they drill holes in each end of the crack to to stop it aluminum is just like glass once it starts to crack it just keeps going if you dont stop it good luck
