Thanks for the info. The rear seat isn't directly attached to the boat, instead there are four brackets: 2 on the floor, and 1 on each side.
This and long with the ribs, should be able to make this work. The transom will also provide support with the addition of two more brackets. I've also got a friend whose business is building carpet cleaning vans and has done tig for me before.
