if you have a good scrap yard like the ones we have here they have loads of diamond plate aluminum that will out last the boat and its just as easy to work with as wood you can cut it with a jig saw and grind or sand the edges smooth call all the junk yards in your area im sure you can come up with some the ones around here sell it for scrap price that also makes it cheaper than wood if you can find it if you cant you may want to consider buying new
