Just a few things........you are running this motor in water (tank or with dog ears on) right?

Do not run it unless you have water going thru the system, you will eat your impeller up in a matter of a minute or two.

About the motor, wouldn't be a bad idea to use fresh gas and even rebuild the carb. The kit is cheap and rebuilding it is really easy. If you dont rebuild it at least take it off and give it a good blast of carb cleaner thru all the ports and any area that you can get to. You could also check all your fuel lines, maybe some are leaking air into the system. Check you primer ball to, it should hold pressure. Change the plugs too.

Remember to always run it in water!

Good luck,
