100hp Evinrude piston replace

It appears a ring let go and damaged a piston and the head on my 79 100hp commercial Evinrude.
Can I replace with a used piston and rod?
What years and hp are interchangable?
Must flywheel come off to remove crankcase?
The motor is strong other than said problem and is on my 18.5 Starcraft used for salmon fishing.
I have budgeted a new 4 stoke for 2003 and would like to make an inexspensive repair on the 100 to tide me over if possible.
Any ideas or insight woud be appreciated.
