Hello guys, Spike mentioned my attitude although he did not use that word. I apologize for the way I come off. My only intention is to help by giving the best information I can, based on what I know to be the FACTS. Iknow how frustrating it can be to be given wrong info. Like putting a whale tail on a jet outboard. It CANNOT be done. on plane a jet lower unit is only3-4 inches in the water and is at an angle with the leading edge about 1-1/2" above the rear. The leading edge of the "shoe" should be within 1/4" of level with the bottom of the hull at its trailing edge. I have seen small lips or wings on the side of a shoe that go down and out to the sides at about a 45 and are about3/8"tall at their leading edge and as much as 1-1/2" at their trailing, these are supposed to help "feed" the intake.
