Got a problem I need some help with. I bought a Sylvan Pontoon with 60 hp Johnson Oil injected. First couple of times out it ran great. Then the key switch started making a chime about every two or three minutes like when the key is on but not running. I could not figure out what was causing this. I now figure that must be an alarm indicating low 2-cycle oil in the resevoir. Yesterday while on the lake the chime started ringing non-stop at which time I turned the boat off. I knew this had to mean something. After much searching for not so obvious things I thought of the oil resovoir and sure enough it was dry. Well I trolled to the marina and topped off the reservoir. Started the boat and headed out (pumped the bulb also)ran great no alarm but then about 1/2 mile at full throttle the boat began losing power and idled all the way down until it died. This pattern has repeated all the way home. I finally found that 1/4 to 1/2 throttle would let me run without shutting off. Question is do I need to do something more to prime the oil injection system? Is this a safety feature? Please help. Don Wilson
