Spike thanks for previous info. Has anyone any idea of the float height ?. Cleaning the carb out, it was full of 'gritty crud' some corrosion damage to float but it still floats !. One of the float pivots on the main body is almost eaten away but not much damage elsewhere ?. The float does still opperate. I may try to build it up with something, any ideas. When I tried it the other day I did get 'ONE' back fire out of a lot of pulls. What throttle position should I be trying to start it on, as the 'start' position has worn off the throttle. How do I check the static timing ?. Some marks on the fly wheel but what do they align with ?. Go tell me to stop being a cheap skate and spend £25 (how much) on a manual. Thanks to anyone who replys.
