Based on the info you gave it is what I said. This doesn't mean that data plates weren't changed. A 8.0hp would be a twin cylinder. There are lot of people out there who are willing to deceive un-supecting indiviuals. If you can find a complete model no. or serial no. perhaps a more positive ID can be made. Also casting nos. on parts can help ID the outboard.
