18 hp Evinrude '65

I completely rebuilt an 18hp Evinrude a friend gave me and it runs great.The question I have is how to best flush it after use.I go mostly salt water and stuff a hose up the back intake after use but I'm never sure if it gets to the powerhead . Whats the best method to flush it out? Thanks for any advice.
