Yeah, you might try an old 90HP or 100HP. Like circa '64-66 or so. They had the same bore and stroke as the 75, but with the flow-thru 4-bbl intake and carb setup produced quite a bit more HP and weren't as bad on gas, either, at part-throttle settings. Don't know if you can mix/match cases on these, but if you can find a front case off one of these you could test fit. I know case-mixing has been done on Inline Mercs but not sure about OMC V4's.

You'd have to fiddle with linkages etc but it'd be interesting to see if would work. If your 75 was electric shift, the conversion would probably be easier yet.
