I have a 1993 Merc 135 V6 with identical habits. These are oil-metered engines. Mine mossquito-fogs the marina on start-up, and absolutely fouls plugs if idled more than 30 minutes or so (ie, trolling). It also is a superb high-end performer. At this time no one has found a cure, though we are going to do some experimenting with plugs to see if we can conquer the fouling problem. Dealers won't recommend anything outside the manual for liability reasons in my experience.
