stator play, side to side.

ok, 58 seahorse fde-12. the stator wiggles side to side, not upwards. When listening really hard i swear i can hear friction in the fly wheel area. How much play should be in the plate when it's tightened down? I bet mine is 3/16" or so when wiggled side to side.

I found some online part # 303278 "armature plate retainer plate," will that do the trick to fix the situation?
